Well, we are approaching the end of the Spring semester, the start of our senior capstone project: "Train of Thought". (name tentative) It's been one heck of a start of a long term project, and we are far from completion, but me and my team are ready to resume our progress over the course of the Summer, all the way into Spring 2021.

To review the stuff that went well, I'm glad that we were able to settle down on what exactly my group wanted to do, which I find to be a tough challenge especially when it's a group that involves 10+ people, and we indeed had many disagreements and long moments where the story took many turns and dramatic changes. I personally was not super involved in out story, but I'm happy where it ended up as opposed to where it was, say, a few weeks after the beginning of Look Dev. Another point that went really well is the layout and sheer amount of environments that we are going to be having. We're going to have a lot of those that will tell the story for us rather than the use of dialog on animations, of course we're still going to have animations though, just in game format (real time cut scenes). That's a quick review of what me personally had in terms of things that worked during the pre-production of this game.

Some stuff that didn't really work or didn't quite go as planned was of course COVID-19. I'll admit the isolation and requirement to stay home did harm a lot of my productivity, but thanks to technology, me and my group and pretty much do anything remotely with online meetings and being able to remote in on the labs when needed. I have two computers of my own so the epidemic hasn't affected my ability to work much. If I had to name one thing I think I wished I could've polished up my station a bit more, I had a huge ambition to "finish" it by the end of the semester, and it's far from that at the time of this post.

Overall it was a wild semester, and I'm very much looking forward to going into full-blown, production with Train of Thought, I'm anticipating the amount of work, stress, and tears that will all be worth it in the end with this year-long project. Good luck to us, and all the other groups to our senior capstones!
